Bridge Construction Begins

The jig for cutting the diagonal struts for the bridge sides.  The site for the bridge is in the background - behind the 'G' clamp.  The tree stump (top right) had to be dug out as in was in direct alignment with the new line.

The plan and the first cut sections.

A New Embankment

After passing through the shed the new line descends on a low embankment on a gradient of 1:39.

The embankment is made from Thermalite blocks.  These were sawn to the angle of the gradient.  The sloping sides are made from concrete.

The completed embankment.

After the embankment section the line will need to pass back over itself.  Unfortunately there is a tree stump in the way!
