Preparing the Sandwell Valley Railway for an Open Afternoon

The open afternoon has been set for Saturday 13th August and not only is the original railway in need of refurbishment after the ravages of the Winter following 18 months of neglect, the new 'figure of 8' line which will take the railway through the shed needs to be constructed.
So far the line has been connected up to one side of the shed - well almost.  It now has to go back over itself and get joined up to the mainline on right hand side of the garden.  This will require the construction of embankments and 2 bridges.
